SMART GROWTH & QUALITY DEVELOPMENT
Sally and I enjoy our neighborhood in Rowlett. Like many, our home is our principle investment and we're interested in its continued appreciation. We would hate to see Rowlett lose its small town appeal, to become covered in concrete or over-run with cheap development. I have the interest, the experience and the background to contribute in a meaningful way, to help make sure we continue in the direction of smart growth. By this, I mean development for the long term, development that can withstand the test of time. Progress should not be measured only by what's new, but what's viable, livable, and sustainable.
PUBLIC SAFETY
Public Safety is a priority. It is the one city service we all want to be as good as it can be, without compromise. Rowlett should always be perceived as a safe place to live. I will assure that our public safety staff are supplied with the best equipment and education to do their job.
PARKS AND GREEN BELT SPACES
Nothing adds to the overall pleasant and comfortable feel of a place like an open, treed green space; whether it's a park, or just a natural area. Developers should be required to include provisions for neighborhood parks when building in our city. I also want to ensure that development and maintenance of city parks go along with our growing population.
